Steam of War Walkthrough

Steam of War is a real-time strategy game that puts you in command of human forces on a hostile alien world. The game features impressive graphics, immersive sound effects, and an excellent soundtrack. If you are a fan of Command and Conquer or StarCraft, you will feel right at home playing this real time strategy game.

The objective of Steam of War is to progress through missions, destroying enemy units and structures while preserving and deploying units of your own. If all of your units are destroyed, you will lose the mission. To prevent this, you must use superior tactics and the right units for the job!

Steam of War features plenty of diverse units. These units range from cheap and fast Scouts, to middle-of-the-line Tanks, to the slow, but beastly Artillery! To build units, simply click on the type of unit that you wish to build in the lower right portion of the game's interface. The unit will be built and ready to deploy. You may deploy units by clicking on built units, then clicking on an area of the battlefield that is not under the fog of war.

Steam of War does not feature Tiberium, minerals, or vespene gas to be harvested; instead, you must destroy enemies to gain money in this strategy game. This gives a duel incentive to destroying enemies, since doing so not only cripples your adversary, but also bolsters your war effort!

Commanding units is easy in Steam of War, and veterans of the RTS genre will be at ease ordering their units about. Simply click on a unit to select it, or drag a box around a multitude of units that you wish to command. To order these selected units to move, simply click on an open patch of ground, and your units will move towards it. Units will automatically engage enemies that are within their firing range (represented by a yellow, dotted-line circle around each selected unit) and are visible.

A good tactic to use in Steam of War is to send faster units as scouts to uncover enemies, while keeping more powerful units such as tanks behind them. You can use your scouts to lure enemies back into your line of tanks, which will crush enemy units. Another great tactic in this strategy game is to use long-ranged artillery units to pummel enemies. Your scouts can uncover enemies, while your artillery attacks from the safety of its long range. Experiment with these tactics, or develop your own to conquer the battlefield in this addicting strategy game!

If you're a fan of StarCraft, Command and Conquer, or other real-time strategy games, you will be drawn into Steam of War. This real-time strategy game may also be a welcome breather for those that would enjoy the RTS game genre, but find the bigger titles to be too complex.
